Design and functioning of system of ignition
Both types of engine DONS are equipped with electronic system of ignition:
– Engines with carburettor fuel system: system of ignition ESC II;
– Engines with injection: system of ignition ЕЕС IV.
System of ignition ESC II

This system contains:
– The distributor of ignition with the distributor of a high voltage and the contactless gauge of the Hall which are carrying out a role of the gauge of number of turns of a cranked shaft of the engine;
– The ignition coil;
– The vacuum gauge in an inlet collector;
– The gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid;
– The gauge of neutral position of the lever of a gear change of an automatic transmission (only in cars with an automatic transmission).
The electronic module of management of ignition ESC II receives signals from these gauges and on their basis and the data containing in its memory, selects optimum, for the given working conditions of the engine, the moment of interruption of a current in a primary winding of the coil of ignition, and thereby an optimum angle of an advancing of ignition. Then includes a current in a primary winding and interrupts a current in it during the moment when in the next cylinder there should be an ignition, again submits a current to this winding etc.
The corner of an advancing of ignition is constantly regulated according to received signals and the data containing in memory of the electronic module.
In engines with the carburettor the module of management of ignition ESC II corrects also position throttle заслонки in a no-load time depending on number of turns, loadings on the engine (for example, transfer inclusion in an automatic transmission or inclusion of the compressor of the conditioner), a thermal condition of the engine, and also from position throttle заслонки.

System of ignition ЕЕС IV
This system of ignition functions on the same principle, as the system of ignition ESC II, only is united with fuel injection in the general control system of engine EES IV, and the electronic actuation device operates also injection system.

Removal and installation of the distributor of ignition
Removal and installation of the distributor of ignition do not represent great difficulties. Elements of system of ignition of engine DOHC are represented in drawing.

Check of elements of system of ignition
In carburettor engine DOHC it is necessary to disconnect a multicontact socket of the module of management of ignition ESC II and to measure by means of a multimeter resistance and pressure on the chosen contacts of a socket according to the resulted table.
In case of wrong values of electric parametres before to consider the given element damaged, it is necessary to check up a condition of a corresponding electric contour. |
