From model 1985 the version of the cars equipped with automatic four-speed transmission Ford A 4 LD is entered. This transmission is equipped муфтой blocking hydrokinetic transfer. Its three first transfers correspond to transfers of three-stage automatic transmission Ford C 3, and 4ая transfer is надпередачей (has transfer number increasing number of turns).
MECHANISM KICK-DOWN CABLE
Originally in automatic transmissions Ford A 4 LD management of the mechanism kick-down was mechanical (fig. Adjustment of a cable of the mechanism kick-down in 1st version of execution see).
Since May, 1986 (a code of date of manufacturing "GJ") the mechanism kick-down copes the electromagnetic valve which provides more exact reduction of transfers.
DISTINCTIONS BETWEEN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS WITH 3 AND AND 4 LD
In a four-speed transmission And 4 LD after inclusion 3 and 4th transfers there comes blocking of hydrokinetic transfer thanks to what oil heating in a transmission, and also consumption of fuel by the engine decreases. The fourth transfer has increasing number of transfer which is at the bottom of that the number of turns of the engine on 25 % is less, than on 3 (direct) transfer at the same speed of movement.
Pressing an accelerator pedal against the stop (kick-down) causes automatic switching of transfer on 3rd. It allows to achieve the big accelerations and the maximum speed of movement.
