FORWARD SUSPENSION BRACKET
Stabilizer fastening to the lever
Since November, 1982 (a code of date of manufacturing "СА") are used a casing from an artificial material on metal basic cups of metallo-rubber rings of connection of the stabilizer with levers.
In case of occurrence of knocks in a forward suspension bracket during movement with small speed on a relief surface it is necessary to arrive as follows.
| PERFORMANCE ORDER
| 1. To lift in front of the car and to fix it.
| 2. To unscrew on the left side a nut of fastening of the stabilizer.
| 3. To remove a metal basic cup and (if has been established) a rubber lining.
|4. To pull forward the bottom shoulder of the lever and to remove a back metal basic cup.
|5. To wipe a back basic cup () (fig. of Installation of new metallo-rubber plugs of connection of the stabilizer with levers of a forward suspension bracket see) and a back part of a back metallo-rubber ring of connection of the lever and the stabilizer.
|6. To establish a casing (D) on a back basic cup () and to put on the stabilizer.
|7. Carefully to clear a forward basic cup () and a forward part of a forward metallo-rubber ring.
|8. To establish a basic rubber lining ().
|9. To establish a casing () on a forward basic cup () and to put on the stabilizer.
If in knot about which there is a speech, there was no basic rubber lining in the course of assemblage it is necessary to establish such lining between a forward metal basic cup and a forward metallo-rubber ring.
|10. To screw a nut of fastening of the stabilizer, but not to tighten it.
|11. To execute similar actions on the right side of the car.
|12. To lower the car.
|13. To tighten on both parties of a suspension bracket of a nut of fastening of the stabilizer the moment of 70-100 Nanometers.
Stabilizer fastening in support
Since April, 1984 (a code of date of manufacturing "EG") till August, 1984 (a code of date of "ITS" manufacturing) at stabilizer installation in support bolts, nuts and support of new type are used. In case of dismantling it is necessary to observe a complete set of original installation necessarily.
NAVES OF FORWARD WHEELS
Nuts of naves of forward wheels
Between December, 1982 and January, 1983 all versions of cars Ford Sierra were equipped with nuts of naves of forward wheels of new type (with a link sided carving). In this connection all knots of naves are designated by letters "L" or "R", meaning accordingly left ("L") or right ("R") the car parties, i.e. the party on which they should be established.
These changes are entered:
– At factory in Genk: on December, 23rd, 1982;
– At factory in Dagenham: on January, 19th, 1983;
– At factory in Cork: on January, 31st, 1983.
Other information, concerning a technical characteristics, adjustment and repair of a forward suspension bracket, is resulted in subsection 9.1.
