3.1.4.3.1.8. Ignition system
THE GENERAL DATA

In the engine of 2,0 NANOSECONDS DOHC 2V (N8A) the storage, microprocessor system of ignition of type ESC II is used, and in the engine of 2,0 NANOSECONDS DOHC EFI (N9A) the storage, microprocessor system of ignition of type ESC IV, united with system of injection Ford Motorcraft EFI is established.

The principle of action of both types of system of ignition is identical, however the system integrated with system of injection differs большей capacity.

The ignition system includes:

  – The ignition coil;
  – The distributor of ignition containing the gauge of number of turns and the distributor of a high voltage;
  – The electronic module of management of ignition or the electronic device operating injection and ignition;
  – Four spark plugs.

Besides, (depending on type) the ignition system contains:

  – The gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid (ESC II and ЕЕС IV);
  – The vacuum gauge (ESC II);
  – The gauge of neutral position of the lever of a gear change of an automatic transmission (ESC II and ЕЕС IV);
  – The gauge of position throttle заслонки ((IV);
  – The gauge of absolute pressure (ЕЕС IV).

The ignition coil

Mark and type: Bosch 0 221 122 450.

Resistance of a primary winding: 0,72 – 0,88 Ohm.

Resistance of a secondary winding: 4,5 – 7 clod.

The ignition distributor

The ignition distributor contains the contactless gauge of the Hall which are carrying out also a role of the gauge of number of turns, and also the high voltage distributor. It is located on the forward end of a cam-shaft of inlet valves.

Mark: Motorcraft.

Ignition order (cylinder N1 from outside a system drive timing): 1–3–4–2.

Rotation direction: clockwise.
