2.3. Check and replacement of oil and the oil filter

THE GENERAL DATA

Check of level of oil in petrol engines

Oil level in the engine is recommended to check at least once a week.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To put the car on a horizontal surface and to wait at least some minutes after engine deenergizing while oil will not flow down in the oil pallet.

2. To take and wipe the index (J) oil level.

3. To insert the index against the stop into an aperture in the block of cylinders of the engine, once again to take and read level of oil which should be between signs "min" and "max" on the index. The oil volume between minimum and maximum levels makes 1 дм³.

4. In case of need it is necessary to fill quantity of oil (oil for the engine of the same classes of quality and viscosity), without exceeding a maximum level.

Control bulb of a minimum level of oil

In some versions of equipment of the car on the forward panel (under average nozzles of system of ventilation) the control bulb which lights up if oil level comes nearer to the minimum is located. This bulb lights up after a minimum of three minutes from the moment of a stop of the engine and ignition inclusion.
The prevention
Indications of level of oil, both the index, and a control bulb, are not true, if the car is located on an inclined surface.

In the cars equipped with a control bulb of a minimum level of oil, it is necessary to take and insert cautiously the index of level of oil not to damage the gauge of a minimum level of the oil, connected to this bulb.
Oil replacement in petrol engines

Oil in the engine it is necessary to replace each 10 000 km of run and is not more rare than an once in a year.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To warm up the engine to normal working temperature.

2. To establish the car on a horizontal surface.

3. To unscrew a stopper (V) plum of the oil, placed in the oil pallet.

4. To wait, while oil will not pour out in the substituted capacity (will not cease to drip) and to screw up a drain stopper.

5. To fill in new oil to a sign "max" on the index of level of oil.

The prevention
In case of use of the car in the conditions of a strong dust content of air, frequent starts of the cold engine, driving on short distances, frequent driving with the trailer, etc. it is necessary to reduce time between replacements of oil and the oil filter.

Replacement of the oil filter in petrol engines

During each replacement of oil it is necessary to change the oil filter also.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To unscrew the oil filter.

2. To oil a sealant of the new filter.

3. To screw up a hand the new oil filter. After contact of a sealant of the filter with a condensed surface follows довинтить the filter case on 3/4 turns.

4. After pouring in the engine of new oil to level "max" it is necessary to start the engine and to check up tightness of connection of the filter.

Control bulb of pressure of oil

The control bulb of pressure of the oil, located on an instrument guard, lights up after inclusion of ignition and should go out after engine start.

Bulb deenergizing means that pressure of oil in system of greasing of the engine within norm.

If after engine start the control bulb does not die away or will light up in an engine operating time it is necessary to switch off immediately the engine as the further work threatens with its serious damage.

It is necessary to check up oil level in the oil pallet. If level normal it is necessary to check up functioning of system of greasing of the engine.

The prevention
It is impossible to continue movement with faulty system of greasing about which the burning control bulb of pressure of oil signals.

Check of level of oil in diesel engines

Oil level in the engine is recommended to check at least, once a week.

1. To establish the car on a horizontal surface and to wait at least, some minutes after engine deenergizing while oil will not flow down in the oil pallet.

2. To take and wipe the index of level of oil (1), to insert it up to the end, once again to take and read oil level (2 – the oil filter, 3 – маслозаливная a mouth).

3. Oil level should be between signs "MIN" and "MAX" on the index (1). The difference between minimum and maximum levels makes 2 дм³.

4. In case of need it is necessary to fill quantity of oil (engine oil of the same classes of quality and viscosity).

Oil replacement in diesel engines

Oil in the engine it is necessary to replace each 7 500 km of run, but is not more rare than an once in half a year.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To warm up the engine to normal working temperature.

2. To establish the car on a horizontal surface.

3. To unscrew a stopper the oil plum, placed in the oil pallet (it is specified by an arrow) and to wait, while oil will not merge in the substituted capacity and will not cease to drip. To screw up a drain stopper.

4. To fill in new oil of demanded quality to a sign "MAX" on the index of level of oil.

The prevention
In case of car use in adverse conditions (frequent starts of the cold engine, driving on short distances, frequent driving with the trailer, a strong dust content of air, etc.) it is necessary a thicket to make oil replacement (and the oil filter).

Replacement of the oil filter in diesel engines

During each replacement of oil it is necessary to change the oil filter also.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To unscrew the oil filter (2).

2. To oil a sealant of the new filter.

3. To screw up the new oil filter. After contact of a sealant of the filter with a sealing surface follows довинтить the filter case on 3/4 turns.

4. After pouring in the engine of new oil it is necessary to start the engine and to check up tightness of connection of the filter.
